Arbor Creek Neighborhood Villages

Architect: Gastinger Walker Harden Architects
Sq.Ft./Size: 6-Bldgs, 53,346 total SF
Acreage: 32 Acres
Location: Olathe, Kansas
Delivery Method: Construction Management

Site development and new construction of a traditional, neighborhood style retail center, comprised of six buildings.  This growing, residential development area in Lee’s Summit needed an anchor to provide the new residents a localized feeling of community.  This retail development fills this need by providing these residents all the comforts and conveniences of a large metropolitan area while making available the quaintness and comfort of shopping in a small rural town where everyone is a friend and neighbor.

Lowe’s Home Improvement Center of Kansas City (Gladstone) MO

Architect: Boice Raidl Rhea Architecture
Sq. Ft./Size: 139,343 SF
Acreage: 11.59 A/C
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Delivery Method: General Contracting

This large Lowe’s project employed a significant amount of fine-looking split-face CMU block for its structural support and exterior façade, with steel joists for its roof support. The Garden Center is more expansive than is typically seen in a Lowe’s, which is also showcased by the extensive use of wrought iron fencing.

Meiners Market

Architect: Warman Design Group
Sq.Ft./Size: 6,585 SF
Acreage: 1.81 A/C
Location: Lee’s Summit, Missouri
Delivery Method: General Contracting

Featuring a state-of-the-art gas supply distribution system, a full-service convenience store, and a car wash this project filled the need of this south Lee’s Summit, Missouri neighborhood.  This steel framed building employed EIFS, brick, and stone veneer systems on the exterior.  The spacious interior is highlighted by the use of an open-joist ceiling system and attractive ceramic tile flooring.

Northridge Plaza

Architect: The Hollis + Miller Group
Sq.Ft./Size: 225,000 SF
Acreage: 25 A/C
Location: Olathe, Kansas
Delivery Method: General Contracting

It’s not often a builder is given the opportunity to transform a 25-acre “town dump” into a high-end, multi-building, retail center. Such was the case with the Northridge Plaza Retail Center in Olathe, Kansas. The beautiful use of brick pavers, cast-stone arches, concrete roof tiles, and an open, steel framed tower spire are just a few of the reasons the Kansas City Business Journal and Ingram’s Magazine ranked this 225,000 square foot center among the top construction projects in the Kansas City area for three straight years.

Wal*Mart Supercenter – Glenpool, OK

Architect: BSW International Architects, P.C.
Sq. Ft./Size: 208,400 SF
Acreage: 60.29 A/C
Location: Glenpool, Oklahoma
Delivery Method: General Contracting

Wal*Mart departed from their typical “big blue box” megastore design to provide a much warmer and natural feel to this one-of-a-kind Supercenter.  In fact, almost every aspect of the project was intended to be “green”, thus minimizing the impact on the local environment and its natural surroundings.  From the use of native stone and locally supplied brick facades, to the implementation of energy efficient skylights, heat reflective roofing, and updated, proficient sight lighting, the project minimized the carbon footprint to the local ecosystem.  The inviting feel of the project further continues on the exterior with the use of attractive, arching, rooflines. On the store’s interior, the use of integrally colored concrete floors and earth-tone finishes provide an alluring and comfortable environment for the store’s patrons.
