Safety

Safety is a way of life…a culture that is not taken lightly.  When we set out on a project one of our many goals is an accident free jobsite.  Whether the site is new construction, or owner occupied, safety is planned for every step of the way.  The safety of the client’s personnel, our employees, and all other team members associated with the project will be a deciding factor in our strategies and approaches.  But safety DOES NOT stop there.  We practice what we preach, and our number one rule applies universally; SAFETY 1ST!

Having achieved The Associated Builders and Contractors' of America (ABC) STEP Platinum for twelve consecutive years (in the past recognized as ABC National's highest safety honor), this year Fogel-Anderson Construction Co. was reconigzed with their newest and highest safety honor, the STEP Diamond Award.  Diamond Award Recipients represent companies with long-term records of remarkable safety performance, exceptional EMR ratings, and average Incident Rates at least 50% below construction industriy averages.

Out of 516 STEP awards (Bronze, Gold, Platinum and Diamond) presented this year, the Diamond Award was only presented to 26 contractor's nationally; Fogel-Anderson was one of only 2 contractor's to reiceve the award from the Heart of America Chapter.  This award places Fogel-Anderson among a select group of companies and positions us within the top 5% of the safest contractor's in the United States.

The Builders Association of Kansas City and the Associated General Contractors of America recognizes our safety program as one of the top programs in the construction industry.

As a result of Fogel-Anderson’s commitment to safety, our worker’s compensation experience modification rate (EMR) is consistently below the national average of all construction companies due to our zero-claim history.  This contributes to lower construction costs which we are able to pass along to clients.

To further our commitment to our culture of safety, and relationships, Fogel-Anderson has maintained our recognition with the Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC) program of ABC.  This is a national accreditation program developed by ABC to publicly recognize and honor those construction firms which have documented their commitment in four key areas of corporate responsibility:  Safety, Employee Benefits, Training, and Community Relations.  Of the 23,000 members of ABC, only 450 have achieved Accredited Quality Contractor status.
